Location: St. Louis, MO

Gov. Jay Nixon today announced $1 million in state funding to ARCH Grants to support the valuable resources and services it provides to local entrepreneurs. This is Gov. Nixon's third announcement in two months awarding funds to the state's regional organizations that make up Missouri's entrepreneurial ecosystem. Recently-released census data showed Missouri leading the nation in new business creation. While 39 states saw a drop in the number of new firms created, new business creation in Missouri surged by 16 percent, more than any other state.

"Arch Grants is a proven model for helping people turn bright ideas into real, high-paying jobs for Missourians," said Gov. Nixon. "Thanks to outstanding organizations like Arch Grants and the talented entrepreneurs they support, Missouri leads the nation in new business creation and is a growing hub of high-tech talent and innovation. That's why I'm very proud to announce an additional $1 million in state funding for Arch Grants to help even more entrepreneurs realize their dreams and grow our economy."
